Foraging: how to find a tone in a living source

The first thing to unlearn is the mouse. CoSynth rewards stillness. Open a source — Temple, say, or Choir — let it play, and don't touch anything for a minute.

When something catches your ear, seek to that moment. Then scrub. Scrubbing freezes a single grain into a sustained tone — what was a passing detail becomes a held breath.

Loop length is the second control to learn. A ~2 ms loop will sing as a pitched buzz. ~200 ms breathes. Four seconds evolves on its own, and that's where blends get strange.

Park four foraged tones at the corners of the XY pad. Move slowly. The interesting territory is rarely at the corners — it's the diagonals.
